
BC Update 237: MBIE to consult twice yearly on changes to the Building Regulations System

MBIE will now consult twice yearly to ensure Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods are up to date.
Sets levels to describe risk and structure factors for the purposes of clauses C1 – C6 Protection from fire.
A building is given an importance level (1-5) determined by risk to human life, the environment, economic cost and other risk factors in relation to its use.
Determinations are made by MBIE on matters of doubt or dispute to do with building work. Rulings are legally binding in relation to each case. Circumstances in one case may differ to others.
